So I installed the SignaLinc hardwired phase coupler and the 10A FilterLinc today and it looks like all the communication issues I was having are gone. I am still getting hop counts of 3 on some devices, but I think that may go away once I install more Insteon hardware.
I am a PhD Candidate in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). My research field is primarily in computational sustainability. Currently I focus on load disaggregation algorithms for the smart grid, smart homes, and smart meters. on professional development I am on leave from BCIT while completes his graduate studies. I am is also interested in human-computer interaction (HCI) and how occupants interact with their homes. I will use this blog to post information on how my research is going.
