Uncertainty Future

It has been many, many years since I last wrote non-technical prose. But somehow today, I was inspired to write. I have included a photo from my SFU office window’s view at 9:30am this morning. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Uncertainty Future

Atop, up high, the mountain of higher learning,
I gaze out the window at the view usually far and wide,
Hope, a faint glimpse, I hope to see what is the future,
The fog and rain clouds my sight, seeing only here and now.

The spring of youth wells at home,
While I am left with a quiet calm,
Yet I sense the excitement of a new beginning,
Now a chapter closed, but not the book.

Soon the rain will stop, the fog will lift,
Bringing the sun for a brighter day,
Yet waiting for it may bring opportunity lost,
A sunny mind can break any foggy, rainy day.

  1. Stephen..

‘Just found you here… ‘following my rambling links & site searches, the most recent being “disaggregation of natural gas residential”. ‘Very much pleased by this prose of hope & uncertainty… the metaphors of the glimpsing, the fog, the expectant waiting are strong. Thank you.. Keep it up.

I do have some tech questions and requests for advice in pursuing my persisting cause, being residential energy efficiency, NILM systems (including real-time gas usage metering), human values & behavior change that I’d like to engage with you, if you’re open to. I’ll follow this with a separate e-mail..
